Esther Teichmann is a German/American artist who lives and works in London, where she teaches at the London College of Communication and The Royal College of Art. Her practice combines photography with film, collage and painting to create alternate worlds that blur autobiography and fiction. She has exhibited her work internationally, and produced numerous publications, including Drinking Air Drinking Air (2012) and Falling into Photography - On Loss Desire and the Photographic (2012). Her chosen image comes from her recent book Fractal Scars, Salt Water and Tears (2014), which explores notions of pleasure, pain, and the self.
